Dan Wolf to ride Pan Mass again this year

Dan Wolf once again jumps on his bike for the Pan Mass Challenge

For the second consecutive year, Cape and Islands State Senator Dan Wolf  (D-Harwich) will ride the Pan Mass Challenge the first weekend in August.

The Pan Mass is a 163-mile bike ride, one of the most successful fundraising events in the country, a true celebration of the human spirit and a beautiful ribbon of humanity that on its second day unfurls down the Cape to the finish line in Provincetown. All funds raised by thousands of bikers go to The Jimmy Fund of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for research, prevention and treatment.

“I ride in support and in memory of all of our families, friends and colleagues who have been touched by cancer,” said Wolf. “Last year was my first ride, and the spirit and sense of community shared on the route was overwhelming. It’s one of the most emotional, fulfilling things I’ve ever done.”

The journey begins in Wellesley on the morning of Saturday, August 6. The first day ends 84 miles later with an evening celebration and overnight at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s campus alongside the Cape Cod Canal. On the second day, riders wheel up the Cape to Provincetown, another 79 miles, traversing the district Wolf now serves as state Senator.

“I’m really looking forward to joining my fellow riders, and also seeing a lot of familiar faces along the way,” Wolf added. “It’s a beautiful, colorful celebration for a great cause, so stop by and cheer us all on. And this year, I’m hoping for no flat tires!”
